A 26-year-old Indian tourist died and three others were hospitalised after a group of Indian travellers suddenly collapsed at a café near Kamala Beach in Phuket, Thailand, in the early hours of May 9. Thai police have launched an investigation into the mysterious incident.

According to reports, five Indian tourists had arrived at the beachfront café late on the night of May 8. Around 1:54 am, four members of the group reportedly began losing consciousness one after another, prompting café staff to alert emergency responders.

Rescue teams rushed the tourists to nearby hospitals in Phuket. Two of the victims were later shifted to Vachira Phuket Hospital after their condition turned critical. One of them, identified as Kushagra Agrawal, later died during treatment on May 9. The remaining three tourists are reported to be in stable condition.

Thai authorities have informed the Indian Embassy in Thailand and forensic experts are conducting a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Police are also examining evidence from the café and questioning witnesses as part of the ongoing probe.

The incident has created concern among Indian travellers visiting Thailand, one of the most popular international destinations for Indian tourists. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether food, drinks, toxic substances or any other factors were responsible for the sudden collapse.
